The NCS is supported in part by grants from the
Amesbury, Georgetown, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, and West Newbury Cultural Councils,
local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Betty Gillette Scholarship

Each year the Newburyport Choral Society awards a $1000 scholarship to a local secondary school senior planning to major in music in college.

Scholarship applications are available in 24 area public and private secondary schools. Runners-up receive book awards which are specially selected by NCS's Music Director, Dr. Gerald Weale, and presented to them at their school's award ceremony.

Email us for more information and a scholarship application. The deadline for submitting applications is in April and the winner is announced in May.
