A message to NCS Sponsors, Singers, Audience Members and Families

On Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd we should have been singing Mendelssohn’s glorious oratorio, Elijah, conducted by music director George Case.

The weekend was beautiful, as outwardly beautiful as it can be in New England in springtime. But  stunning as the weather was, we all felt ourselves drifting back to the hours when we would have been arriving at Belleville, lining up to walk to the risers, and feeling fulfilled from singing for you, our community, such a magnificent piece that represents the height of choral singing traditions set to words profound and just.

Please know that we are grateful for your support during this pandemic…the only time NCS has had to cancel a concert season in our 85 years of singing. But we know we will sing again and be ever more joyful because of it. Stay the course. Stay well.
