Tickets are now available for our May 4th and 5th spring concerts entitled “Resilience and Hope.”  The concerts will celebrate the resilience and strength of the human spirit, and the redeeming power of hope. 

Selections include:

  • Psalm 24: The Earth Belongs to the Eternalby early 20th Century French prodigy Lili Boulanger,
  • The Cry of Jeremiahby renowned contemporary American composer Rosephanye Powell,
  • Stabat Mater Speciosaby North Shore composer Mary Montgomery-Koppel,
  • Spring in My Hometownby contemporary Korean composer Hye-Young Cho, and
  • Requiemby 20th Century French organist and composer Maurice Duruflé.

The performance of Spring in My Hometown, is dedicated to Newburyport’s plan for climate resilience, entitled Resilient Newburyport. NCS is the proud recipient of a Community Action grant supporting this initiative.

The concerts will be performed at the brand new Pentucket Regional High School Auditorium, located at 24 Main Street in nearby West Newbury. There is ample parking in front of the school, and the auditorium is located just off the main lobby/front entrance to the building.  Please note:  The well-marked “entrance” to the school’s parking lot is near the Groveland/West Newbury line on Route 113, midway between Farm Lane in West Newbury and Merrimac River Road in Groveland. There is a two-lane “exit” from the school parking lot directly in front of the school that cannot be used to enter the parking lot.

Currently serving as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choirs at Gordon College in Wenham, MA, Dr. Kim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Choral Conducting from the University of Maryland, a Master of Music (MM) in Choral Conducting from The Ohio State

University, and a Bachelor of Music (BM) in Composition from Yeungnam University in South Korea.  

Minji inspires us with her love of singing and her expert knowledge of vocal production and choral singing. 

We are so excited about our upcoming concerts and look forward to seeing you in May!
